After spending three years as the sole retail equity analyst at Impala Asset Management evaluating publicly traded retail companies, I learned how to identify high-performing companies, categories shifts, emerging trends, and strong management teams. I also consider myself an expert on all things consumer from working as a Product Assistant at Macy’s, as a Retail Analyst at Impala Asset Management, and as an MBA Associate at Muse Capital. At Macy’s, I learned how to identify consumer trends and preferences, how to draw in new consumers without ostracizing existing ones, and how to identify white spaces for the private label line (First Impressions) to move into. I also learned how to evaluate competitors and apply those learnings to Macy’s business. At Impala and Muse, my experience involved comparing and contrasting competing companies, identifying which ones would perform best and why (i.e., management, sector, etc.), and determining which sectors were ripe for disruption. I am currently Partnership Coordinator and Venture Partnership Manager at SelectFew helping VCs support their portfolio companies and accelerate growth through marketing as well as the Venture Fellow for How Women Invest where I support the fund with due diligence and have spearheaded the recent deal sourcing initiative.
