Job Description

The Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Data Science, you will play a crucial role in supporting our product and data scientists by conducting comprehensive data exploration, ensuring data quality, and creating impactful dashboards for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Your expertise in data exploration, SQL, Python, Pandas, and data visualization will be instrumental in delivering insights that drive our data-driven decisions. Your ability to present data insights in consumable stories will be key in influencing our product improvement and customer success.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with product and data science teams to conduct thorough data exploration, uncovering trends, patterns, and insights that contribute to the development of our product strategy.

  • Ensure data quality by performing rigorous exploration and analysis, identifying and reporting data inconsistencies and anomalies.

  • Create both internal and customer-facing dashboards that showcase key metrics and data-driven insights, providing valuable information to stakeholders.

  • Clearly communicate complex data insights to both internal teams and external clients, tailoring your communication style to the audience's technical proficiency.

  • Work with Snowflake, AWS, and dbt to develop data pipelines that facilitate data analysis, reporting and visualization.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation for data processes, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in data analysis, tools, and technologies.


What You Will Accomplish Within 6 Months

At Pave, we are a fast-moving startup. You can expect to make significant contributions within your first 6 months, working on project such as:


  • Become a Key Player in User Segmentation

    • Dive into our expansive dataset encompassing tens of millions of Americans and play a pivotal role in identifying unique user segments, such as “car owners” or “individuals navigating debt payment challenges”. Your analysis will be the cornerstone for shaping our future products.

  • Influence the Evolution of Our Data Science Practices

    • Through data analysis, you will identify user segments where our AI models could be improved. Your insights will be valuable in providing actionable insights to our data science team, thereby contributing to the team's strategies in enhancing our models.

  • Client Engagement through Data Presentation

    • You will present the compelling advantages of using our products to our clients, backed by your own thorough analysis of their data. This aspect of your role will support our sales efforts and customer satisfaction by clearly articulating the value of our services to our clients.


Requirements

  • Strong passion for data exploration and visualization, with a keen eye for uncovering and communicating meaningful insights from complex datasets.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.

  • Experience with using Python, especially Pandas, for data analysis.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into actionable insights for various audiences.
