Jim McKelvey is a serial entrepreneur, inventor, and author. In 2009, Jim co-founded Square (now Block), the financial technology company he co-founded with Jack Dorsey, which transformed digital payments. He is also the founder of Invisibly and the author of The Innovation Stack, a Wall Street Journal bestseller on entrepreneurship and resilience.

Beyond his startups, Jim serves as Chairman of the St. Louis Federal Reserve and is a leading advocate for entrepreneurship and economic growth in the Midwest. He founded LaunchCode, a nonprofit that provides free coding education and job placement, and the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis was named in his honor. Jim is based in St.Louis and New York and enjoys honing his craft as a glassblowing artist.
